![]() Right now, the best part about him is that he doesn't need anyone to call his number to score. Once he develops his outside game more in the offseason and works on his ability control the ball he will be a potential all big east player. He is not your pragmatic athlete, in fact he is a stellar athlete. The possibilities are endless for his career. The thing that really me excites me about this young stud is upside. He has been a consistent player for the Cuse and has been able to put up decent numbers recently. Another major development with our squad lately has been the rising of freshman phenom CJ Fair. Frankly, he doesn't fuck up, which compared to our other guards he looks like the second coming of Christ. Not only with his ability to hit from down town, but because he has been a leader on the court. I have not been able to help but make comparisons between him and Andy Rautins recently. In the past two games he has put up 21 both times and clearly been our best player and best leader. Although, in the past, he has shown major spurts of his scoring ability he is truly starting to develop into a consistent scorer for the Orange. I would say the main think would have to be the newfound leadership and scoring ability of Brandon Triche. So, it has been a while since we have had a state of the orangemen address and there is much to talk about. Here are some of my favorite BET Moments. ![]() Syracuse is in a good position to make a run in both the BET and the NCAA Tournament, but they need good guard play as well as consistent double doubles from Rick Jackson to succeed. Good guard play is definitely essential come March, and Scoops good play as a passer will be important down the stretch. These are all guys that are ready for the big stage, and specifically Scoop Jardine has been picking up his play lately, averaging seven assists a game over his last three games, and six per game on the season. ![]() It is somewhat safe to presume that Kris Joseph will be consistent as well as scoop and Triche hopefully. Rick has struggled at points during conference play, and if the lone senior on this Syracuse squad doesn't show up this month we have no chance. Many think that with him healthy the Cuse' make a run at a title. We saw it last year, Arinze Onuaku plagued with injuries really hurt Syracuse in the NCAA Tournament. The deciding factor, like it or not, is how will Rick Jackson play down the stretch for the Orange. They are winners of five straight and quietly one of the hotter teams in the nation. So as far as this year goes, I don't think it is wrong to think that if the Cuse' make a strong run in the BET that they could probably be a two seed for the NCAA Tournament. I'm sure UConn will be feeling a lot of that this year. Perfect example of this is Syracuse playing in a six overtime game one night and then having to wake up the next morning and have to play all over again the next day. Third, the element of playing during five straight days makes things ten times more chaotic. It simply just does not get any better hands down. Second of all, you cannot beat playing college basketball at the garden. First of all, obviously the amount of talent in the Big East is absolutely ridiculous. ![]() Can UConn possible have it in them to win the BET playing five days in a row? I think there are a few elements that make the BET a lot better than other conference tournaments. With 16 teams in the tournament as of last year, it makes the BET even crazier.
